Getting married in North Rhine-Westphalia
I live and work in Germany’s capital but never say no to a weekend-wedding-trip back to my hometown Solingen. And Berlin isn’t the only place to find industrial charme and shabby-chic locations. In the “city of blades”, between the Rhineland and the Bergisches Land, one can celebrate a wedding in a former train station.
The German-Italien wedding couple got ready at home. Many family members and relatives were already present in the morning and made for a wonderful get-together. While the kids ran around, high on too much lemonade, the uncles and aunties helped the bride and groom prepare for the day. wedding
The ceremony happened across town in a beautiful church in Kohlsberg. After saying yes and the congratulations we wandered the nearby fields and had a great, relaxed photo shooting – in the bright midday sun. For dinner and the party the couple had chosen an extraordinary event location in what used to be Solingen’s main train station: Steinhaus Solingen.
