French Wedding at Mauerpark in Berlin
Noémie and Mahdi got married in Berlin’s famous Mauerpark. The couple lives in Paris but grew up partly in Berlin. Their families and friends joined them for a festive day in the heart of Germany’s capital. What they wished for was an uncontrived day with focus on the essential: a celebration of their love with the people close to them. The venue Schönwetter (actually means beautiful weather) offered the perfect ambience and wedding photos at Mauerpark are quite something.
Holding umbrellas in our hands Noémie, Mahdi and I met around midday at the venue. While a group of their friends was taking care of the wedding decor we started scrolling through Mauerpark to take pictures. Mauerpark offers truly great possibilities for wedding photos: meadows, a birch forest, the flea market area as well as the amphitheatre, where Berlin’s most famous karaoke takes place every Sunday. Right on cue the rain stopped.
Afterwards we went back to Schönwetter, a really exceptional wedding venue in Berlin, that offers endless possibilities for individual styling and decoration. Noémi and Mahdi decided to give it a Mediterranean beach bar feeling coupled with a rustic “berlinesque” touch. The ceremony was held by the groom’s brother and a good friend of the bridal couple and turned out to be a beautiful combination of personal history, emotions and humour.
After saying yes the team served a delicious selection of appetizers and aperitifs. What followed was a relaxed afternoon where no one could get bored: photo booth, table tennis, deck chairs and simply good conversations. Even I grabbed the opportunity and brushed up on my French again.
Dinner consisted of a BBQ buffet, tasty salads as well as freshly baked wood-oven pizza. When Noémie and Mahdi suddenly jumped up from their seats and showed their awesome interpretation of a first dance to oriental-electronic sounds, everyone dropped their forks and followed suit. At the latest now I realised I was in the exact right place and the right time and it would be a long night. But see for yourself.
