A stunning country wedding in Bad Belzig
Sophie and Sebastian wrote to me last autumn. I immediately got a good vibe from this spirited but down-to-earth couple: hearing about their plans to marry in the German countryside in a charismatic converted barn made me truly excited to experience their wedding day.
Their morning preparations and reception took place in a rustic but beautifully restored country house, an hour south of Berlin. The ceremony – intimate and considered – was held nearby in a chapel surrounded by a pine forest. It was sentimental, romantic, personal. The things that weddings should be.
Sophie and Sebastian were all for taking their time. Between each of the ‘highlights’, they had space to mingle, talk with their guests, and appreciate the people who were there for them. It was a real celebration of family and friendship.
Sophie’s sister and her mother deserve a special mention. The hours and hours they spent setting the tables and decorating the barn paid off, as the barn was transformed into the perfect spot for a party…
