A beautiful summer wedding in the countryside
The thermometer showed 33 degrees on Vic and Basti’s wedding day in 2018. Passing by withered landscapes I made my way from Berlin to their wedding location in Brandenburg. An hour later I met the wedding party at an old barn near Bad Belzig.
The couple made me start my job for the day long before the ceremony. This gave me plenty of time to wander around and start the wedding documentary as usual by capturing the landscape, details and the atmosphere. While strolling the large grounds with ponds and meadows I met the first guests who were dedicated to finishing the last elements of the decor.
I also had the chance to document many moments of the bride and groom’s as well as the guests’ preparations. Vic and Basti had the great idea to hire two extra hair dressers so their family and friends could get styled, too.
The ceremony was held in the garden by a friend of the wedding couple – a really nice idea and superbly executed. Afterwards it was time for champagne and canapés (and of course ice cream.) A huge bowl of freshly picked cherries accompanied the wedding cake. Talking about cherries: during the bridal portraits we stopped at one of the trees for a moment. What a delicious treat
In the early evening hours we then entered the beautifully decorated barn where dinner and a long night party night followed…
